Right now the media is going through the most exciting transition period it has known since the advent of newspapers. Traditional PR practices are changing fast and DawBell is at the heart of those changes. As a start up company we are in a position to adapt and evolve with the media, meaning we are the most competitive, cutting edge and unique company of its kind. We are here to do an incredible job and anything less just won’t do.

DawBell believe in the Jerry McGuire philosophy – fewer clients, personal attention. We seek to stay away from spreading ourselves too thin, as ultimately both the client and DawBell will suffer. Media relations…

Let’s dismiss the myth that having a great story alone is all you need in PR. For DawBell, having the best media relations is vital. It’s all very well having a great story to tell but if you have no one to tell it to then it’s all academic. The concept of seeing the media as an enemy is desperately out of date and is an anti PR view. We pride ourselves with incredible and unrivalled relationships; working directly with the media means the results are better for everyone involved. The history of successful public relations shows us that the most successful communicators were the ones with the strongest media relationships.

Our methods…

At DawBell we always strive to develop the most exciting and creative ideas and strategies for our clients. We will never be a shoe factory churning out press releases and sending off group emails hoping for the best. We pick up the phones and we directly communicate the uniqueness and excitement we feel for our clients so the media can’t resist. We are highly motivated and our results reflect this.

Planning is key to us; we plan carefully for the perfect result. DawBell provide realistic and achievable plans. It’s important not to waste client’s (and our own time) by promising the impossible. As a new company we need to build the best possible reputation and we want long-term relationships with our clients. We believe in honesty and we won’t pretend to offer services we can’t do just for the money. Our reputation comes before any financial desires. We have no interest in wasting time on things that have no benefit to the business or our clients. For us it is simple – maximum effort for the maximum impact.

DawBell look at every single project as a potentially awarding winning campaign and want people to be impressed by our work. We are ultimately in this to be the best.

We work with and alongside our clients to achieve the best. We believe that personal relationships with our clients will give us a deeper understanding into our client’s needs and what they want to achieve out of their PR campaigns. DawBell take the essence of an artist or brand very seriously and seek to protect and enhance it in every way we can. It’s our job to do this through effective and clear communication with the media.

The changing face of PR…

We are excited about utilising the new developments in communication and technology to deliver the very best, fully rounded and most innovative service possible to our clients and to interact with the media. It’s important for DawBell to lead where others follow and provide ground-breaking campaigns. We are not held back by working in the constraints of the outdated methods that many PR companies still cling to. For us Print Media, TV, Radio and Online should all be worked together for the best possible results. DawBell are also aware that since the advent of the internet, PR needs to be considered in global terms. What happens here in the UK will have an impact on the international PR campaign. We always think in global terms and it’s vital that all campaigns are correctly coordinated with international campaigns.

Our employment criteria…

DawBell aim to build the most enviable team of publicists in the industry. We are looking to bring together a like-minded team that shares our passion for the PR industry. We believe we provide an exciting and enviable environment to work in that encourages our staff to grow and develop. Our employment policy is simple – we look for adaptable creative people who want a challenge and want to evolve. No two days are the same at DawBell and it’s never boring. We operate on the same level and don’t believe in a hierarchy system. Great ideas are not exclusive to senior staff! We share knowledge, expertise, ideas and advice. We operate as a team and encourage everybody to be involved with each campaign. However, we do not believe in simply farming our clients to just anybody in the office. All clients receive expert treatment as well as benefiting from the enthusiasm of a hungry team.

Public Relations – The past, the future and where DawBell fit in…

Beyond loving what we do at DawBell we have a genuine passion and interest in the history of the Public Relations industry and how the media has evolved over the years. It’s important for us to understand how our industry arrived at this point and just how important and crucial our role is and will continue to be through all the current changes.

From the inception of the entertainment publicity industry at the turn of the 20th century, before the creation of Hollywood, with pioneering characters such as P.T. Barnum promoting circuses and vaudeville, to the untouchable vintage Hollywood era of Maynard Nottage and Harry Reichenbach, the rise of television and the explosion of global musical icons in the 60s. The Beatles shook the world up and in that shake up the modern music publicity industry was to change. Their first press officer Derek Taylor went on to set up his own agency, representing acts such as The Beach Boys and The Byrds. Since then the music publicity industry has expanded and today there are just one or two great music publicity operators around. Our ambition is to become part of the fabric of this society and to significantly add to an industry we love and care about. The media environment has reached another great time for change and DawBell can’t wait to be part of it.

The media mediums and outlets change with the passing of time but the role of the publicist essentially remains the same. A PR has always needed to, and continues to, need have the ability to communicate stories about their clients to the media in a way that makes their client newsworthy. More increasingly, these days media content is entertainment based. DawBell is uniquely placed and has the media knowledge and contacts to make this happen for their clients.

DawBell are perfectly positioned to be the first modern entertainment PR company that successfully takes the tried and tested working practices from the past and makes them work for the future.
